Memorial Speech

To us all in this time we have all lost something, even if it is just something small from the friend you saw once in a while to something big like your reason to smile. We have all lost something and to me I've lost my best friend, a brother. The memories I shared with Ryan were the greatest times of my life even if it was just waking our parents up at 3 O'clock in the morning while playing games to the fact I can never listen to Highway to Hell again because of him.
So if there was a way that I could sum up Ryan in words it would have to be, the spark of happiness because no matter what happened in our lives Ryan could just say one line, pull a face or just do something utterly stupid like walk into a bus stop and all of these things would have me laughing and sometimes crying with laughter. Every time he did something he could spark some happiness out of someone. Always could crack a smile when someone was down and could always make everyone laugh.
And as a best friend of 7 years he was one of the biggest and greatest people to have come into my life, from year 7 to the end of my college life. An inseparable duo who always caused hassle for our parents especially with our ear stretchers. A friendship which never faulted and stayed strong for all this time. He was something special, he was a lot of people's lives and a lot of peoples treasures, he was someone worth going through hell and back for.
But right now these words I say about Ryan are words to tell everyone about him and give everyone last bit of happiness, but to me these words are an imprint on me from him. An impression and that's what we all have to do now is remember the impression left by him on our lives because that impression will be there for a long time, that impression is a part of us all and is something that makes us who we are. So even if you don't have as many memories as others, you still have that to hold onto dearly. This memory of Ryan explains his character in a well enough position to show what his true passion was. Everyone knew he loved his gaming and his video's, but on New year's day of every year he'd come round to my house for a celebration party, as we sat up stairs and played games all night my dad would eventually shout us down for food and we'd head on down. Now Ryan being a shy character he never really spoke to my family, but my family would say hello and he'd just give them the low pitch 'I don't know what I'm doing' hello and go collect some food. On the way back though he was always high and mighty and would walk through with pride and say a cheerful bye while everyone looks astonished at him. This is because he would always come back with about 3 plates filled with food, most likely one of them just with bread. Ryan's truest passion was food and I'm going to miss waking up the next morning when he's stayed over to get food and he's just stood there with a little grin because he's eaten the best stuff first. That was Ryan, a food loving, game playing spark of happiness and he's already being missed a lot and will continue to be missed, but he has never left us. He'll always stand by our sides and always be there because from now on all of us, everything we do we're doing it for Ryan. We are the continuity of his life and we have to live his life on top of ours, to do the things he never did and he'd stand by our sides and be proud of us all no matter what. From a son, to a brother, to a friend, to a family member he was something to us all and will always be something to us.
